It appears that she suffers a nervous disorder that temporarily paralyzed her arm. A friend of Kate says: "Kate woke up in the Ritz hotel and had no feeling in her arm, which is very scary."
Fortunately, it takes a few months until it is over, but I'm certainly shocked!
